Laser Vision Correction

It’s estimated that 164 million adults in America wear glasses. It’s probably safe to assume that most of those adults started wearing corrective lenses when they were diagnosed with nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism at a young age. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, you are no stranger to the hassles, frustrations and ongoing expenses of getting updated prescriptions, buying new frames, replacing contact lenses and purchasing cleaning solutions. Your eyesight will not magically improve unless you have a medical procedure to fix the underlying problem: alter the shape of your cornea to allow for clear vision without lenses.

Laser vision correction is a way to reduce or completely eliminate corrective lenses from your life. This is considered an elective procedure that can be truly life-changing. There are two types of laser vision correction that we offer at Azul Vision:

  • LASIK: laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis
  • PRK: photorefractive keratectomy

Most people have heard about LASIK vision correction – and you may even know several people who have had the procedure. PRK is a similar, but slightly different procedure that has been FDA-approved even longer than LASIK. Our doctors take time to study your eye health and eye anatomy to determine which type of laser vision correction would be appropriate for you.

Unfortunately, in some cases, laser vision correction is not recommended at all. That is why our free LASIK Consultation is so important: it’s time that we dedicate just to you – performing all of the testing necessary to confirm your candidacy for laser vision correction. You can feel confident in the recommendations we give at Azul Vision. If you decide to move forward with our team for LASIK, you can also feel confident in our doctors’ surgical abilities.
