Board-Certified Ophthalmologist & Vitreoretinal Surgeon
Dr. Darren Knight is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retinal surgery. He graduated with honors from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and obtained his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. After an internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt medical center, he completed his residency at the University of California, Irvine followed by a prestigious two-year vitreoretinal disease and surgery fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Knight is also a member of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Over the course of his educational and professional career, Dr. Knight has presented basic science and clinical research at national conferences and has had his research published in a number of peer reviewed journals. He strives to guide his patients to a complete understanding of their illness and best practices in their care. Dr. Knight practices vitreoretinal surgery with a special interest in emerging surgical techniques, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. As a Southern California native, Dr. Knight enjoys spending time with his family, exploring our beautiful state, and cheering on the Lakers and USC Trojans in his spare time.
