Today’s visit 2/5/25 was completely different than other experiences .We’ve been coming for at least ir close to a year. The office was very crowded which is always! Today we only waited less than an hour. Last visit over two and our entire visit felt rushed. Not this time. We felt seen and heard. My 80 year old mom is always nervous about going to this appointment which is understandable, but today’s visit Dr Chang made her feel heard and took extra time to make sure she was okay. He explained how he had been tending to my mom’s eyes and how the entire process works. Like I said this was really different than before. I never felt rushed and I actually left completely heard and all questions were answered. The office staff is always helpful and kind. The technicians are very helpful and welcoming too. The office is always comfortable with plenty of seating. The restroom is also very clean. This was by far the best experience today. Again very very different and I hope this type of service continues.

Because Dr Chang took his time on my mother and did not cause her any pain with the injection that she needed and also gave thorough information on her macular degeneration I was very impressed. Doctor Chang might be a little rough around the edges, but he is very good at his job. I wish other patients would be patient with him. Dr. Chang, fully explained my condition, why it occurred, what to expect going forward, I alos liked that he told me how to get maximum effect of eye drops to my eye by closing my eye to allow the medicine to get it's full benefit to the eye. First time I saw Dr. Chang was about 5 years ago and I was fortunate enough to continue seeing him for about a year and half. He then moved to another office and I was forced to see someone else which I did not like at all. I decided I needed to find him again. I had a difficult time tracking him down but finally did. Best decision I ever made. I do not normally do this but Dr. Chang is absolutely amazing. He is kind, funny and gives you that level of comfort knowing that you are in the best care. Dr.Chang has been wonderful throughout the repair and treatment of my torn retina. I went to several offices over the first week of treatment and didn’t mind the wait for receiving his expert care. We came all the way from OC to see Dr. Chang. It was worth the 2 hours of drive. This was a 2nd opinion for my mom and this was way better experience than the first Dr I took her with. From staff to provider everything was great. Dr Chang and the office are very busy. Dr and Staff at Riverside office are beyond wonderful. Dr. Chang knows his trade, I like that he's to the point and gives out beneficial advice. Dr Chang is a wonderful, caring Retina Specialist. Took me in between other clients on emergency when my retina tore at the top. He was able to repair my tear in office over 3 visits and had me texting him updates on status in between procedures staying on top of what was needed next. I don't know any other doctors that care this much. Thanks to Dr Chang and my Ophthalmologist Dr Pabalan who found the tear and sent me on emergency to see Dr Chang same day, I did not have to undergo full retina surgery and have my full sight today.Patient Submitted Review

Thank goodness for Dr, Chang!! He is a no nonsense provider (honest and straightforward) and I so appreciate that! I have been through the terrible experience of a detached retina. He is the only provider at my clinic that I trust. He’s swamped due to being a Retina Specialist. California Eye Specialists are fortunate to have him. My mom has been living with macular degeneration for years, seeing several different doctors and not the best outcome. We were fortunate to get Dr. Chang because of an insurance change. He goes above and beyond any doctor we have seen in caring for her. He always makes us feel like we are his only patient, caring, honest, informative, never rushed and compassionate. He truly cares about the well being of his patients. My mom is 87 her stress level and uncertainty in going to her eye appointments is no longer a concern, she actually looks forward to seeing Dr. Chang. I have been seeing Dr. Chang for 2 months for a retinal detachment ( this isn't my first detachment) He has been amazing and doesn't sugar coat my treatment. Hands down the best doctor I have had for my retinal issues! Highly recommend 👌
