F. Jacob Khoubian, M.D., M.S.

Dr. F. Jacob Khoubian, MD, MS, is a highly skilled and experienced board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who is a leader in cataract surgery and LASIK. He specializes in refractive cataract surgery to not only improve vision but also reduce or eliminate the need for glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Khoubian finds great joy in helping restore and improve his patients’ most important sense—the sense of sight.

Dr. Khoubian completed his ophthalmology residency in 2008 at the world-renowned UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute, where he was one of the recipients of the prestigious Devgan Surgery Award. Throughout his career, Dr. Khoubian has performed approximately 15,000 cataract surgeries in addition to other surgeries, LASIK, and glaucoma lasers. He is devoted to providing the best care by using the most advanced diagnostic and surgical technologies, including laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS), toric IOLs, extended depth-of-focus IOLs, multifocal IOLs, ORA intraoperative aberrometry, minimally invasive combined cataract and glaucoma procedures (MIGS), and other advanced techniques.

Dr. Khoubian is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a nationwide lecturer and a published author of several research studies.

For nearly 10 years in a row, Dr. Khoubian received Vitals.com review websites’ Patients’ Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Award. In 2014, he received the Vitals.com Top 10 Doctors Award for being one of the top 10 ophthalmologists in Los Angeles for providing quality care—out of hundreds of candidates. Currently, U.S. News & World Report Health publishes Dr. Khoubian as receiving the Patient Top Choice Award and Patient Recommended Award.

Dr. Khoubian enjoys spending time with his wonderful three children and amazing wife. He studies philosophy and is honored to interact throughout his career with patients of various ages, beliefs, cultures, and experiences—learning from each other about this incredible journey called life. His hobbies include music and snorkeling. Having been an advanced licensed amateur radio operator as a teenager, he still enjoys “tinkering” with electronics and repairs.‍
