Dr. Julia Chu embarked on her medical journey at the University of California, San Diego, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology. She pursued her passion for eye care at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree. Certified by the TLG and licensed for full-scope optometry in California, Dr. Chu has honed her expertise and broad clinical experience. Her clinical training spans several prestigious institutions, including the VA Hospital in Newington, CT; Manatee Rural Health Clinic in Bradenton, FL; and private practices in Chandler, AZ, and San Diego, CA.
These experiences have equipped her with the skills to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of ocular diseases, such as dry eyes, red eyes, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and hypertensive retinopathy. Having spent her childhood in Taiwan, Dr. Chu is fluent in Mandarin and conversational in Spanish, enhancing her ability to connect with a diverse patient base. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys family time, hiking, travel, culinary exploration, and cozy coffee shop visits. Dr. Chu is eager to bring her expertise and compassionate care to patients in the Inland Empire.
