Dr. Rex Villegas is the Chief Optometry Director for Azul Vision. Dr. Villegas has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego, and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University. He completed a residency in geriatrics/primary care at the West Los Angeles VA Healthcare Center. He is the residency coordinator for Azul Vision's ocular disease residency program affiliated with Marshall B. Ketchum University, where he is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Optometry. Dr. Villegas is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and board certified by the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry.
In his spare time Dr. Villegas enjoys reading, listening to music, attending live music events, and learning more about wine and beer. If he's not at a concert or watching the Miami Dolphins, he could probably be found exploring California's various wine regions.
